Hi, we are Maple class and our teacher is Miss Hines. There are 29 of us and we are a mixture of Year 3 and Year 4. Mrs Baguley and Mrs Wood work with us every day and they are amazing!

We work really hard all of the time and love a good challenge! Our lessons are always fun and exciting and we love finding out new facts, especially about our current topic, World War 2!

We have two class pets. A cute leopard called Cocoa and a cheeky gorilla called Kai. Cocoa likes to stay in the classroom and make sure we are working hard, Kai gets to go home with one of us every Friday and he enjoys going on adventures.

Maple class are big readers – we have a new class book each term that we share together. We are definitely fans of David Walliams and are currently reading Grandpa’s Great Escape. It’s very funny!

Miss Hines REALLY loves colouring and we love it too! We enjoy 5 minutes of mindfulness colouring every day to help us calm down after energetic lunch times and to make sure we are ready to learn. Come and visit our room to see our beautiful creations!

If we work hard in Maple class, we get Dojo points which we absolutely love! The person with the most becomes the champion of the week. We have class targets to with rewards when we meet them. We can’t wait to earn our slippers and teddy day!

This is why we love being in Maple class:

“I like Maple Class because the teachers are always around if you ever need them. You never know what’s coming round the corner in Maple. Colouring to help us calm down is always a treat after play.” – Sebastian

“Maple Class is the best because it has very nice teachers and I like the homework. I really like doing handwriting, my writing is getting neater.” – Ethan

“I love being in Maple because our teacher is really fun and she teaches us amazing maths. She will help you if you find it hard.” – Kitty-Rose

Welcome to Oakley Primary Academy

On behalf of the governors, the staff, pupils I would like to welcome you to Oakley Primary Academy. We are friendly village school with exciting times ahead as we continue along our transition of moving towards a primary school with our first year 5 pupils joining us this year. We are a member of the Sharnbrook Academy Federation and work closely with all of the schools within the Federation, as well as other schools and pre-schools in the local area. This enables us to share expertise, good practice and learn and move forward together. The close links we have with the pre-schools enable us to really get to know the pupils and their families before they join the Early Years.

We are proud to be a ‘Values School’. The values we teach are modelled by all of the team and through our teaching of the curriculum. We are a supportive and hardworking team, where all stakeholders are valued and listened to.

At Oakley Primary Academy we deliver the National Curriculum through a creative curriculum so that learning is creative, fun and meaningful. There is a clear progression of skills in each subject to enable children to grow in all areas and be successful, not only in key assessments, but in daily life.

We work very closely with the families of our school and acknowledge the importance of close home/school links. We have an open door policy and there is always someone available if you wish to talk.

I am extremely proud of our school and of all the hard work from our pupils, families, staff, PTA and governors.

If you would like any further information about our school please make contact via the details on this website.
