Odd Sock Day
We are a group of eight year five and six children who earlier this year took part in some anti-bullying training to enable us to become anti-bullying ambassadors. We have been working both in and out of the classrooms to help stop any situations that make a child or children feel anxious or concerned, and to assist others to recognise and help with any forms of bullying.
The national Anti-Bullying week this year is 12th – 16th November, and the theme is ‘Choose Respect’. All children will be finding out more about this theme with their teachers. We would like to mark the beginning of the week by holding an ‘odd sock day’ on Monday 12th November, to celebrate the fact that though we are all part of the community of Oakley Primary Academy, we are all different and valued.
Please could everyone wear odd socks that day? There will be no collection, just the recognition that we all have different views and talents, and appreciate the value of anti-bullying week.
Thank you very much for your support,
