Jeans for Genes Day
As in previous years, Oakley Primary will be taking part in this year’s Jeans for Genes Day on Friday 21st September.
1 in 25 children has a genetic disorder that makes their life very difficult. By wearing our jeans and donating, we will help change the lives of these children.
All children and staff are invited to wear jeans or an item made from denim on Friday 21st September. We’d like everyone to take part and come to school wearing denim and with a £1 donation for the charity. Please ensure for safety reasons that clothing is suitable for normal school work and no open toe shoes or high heels worn.
During the week, the children will be learning more about the Jeans for Genes charity, and the families it supports.
The website jeansforgenes.org have a series of powerful five-minute films to explain how your child’s donation will make a difference. Each film provides a compelling and personal insight, introducing some amazing children living with genetic disorders, sharing first-hand what life is like with their condition. Please visit jeansforgenes.org/schools for more information, to view these films and to find out more how our support will help.
